Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

So they tell me Winter is coming and the holidays will be here before we know it. So I’m getting a jump on Holiday Meal Planning. Which is essential to having those flawless holiday dinner parties. Everyone will be asking you for this recipe and it will be the easiest side sitting on your table.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus is an elegant and tasty way to impress guests and they always seem to go with everything on the dinner table. I personally consumed this whole plate just for dinner. But that’s not important.

You can double, triple this recipe to fit your number of guests, I’ve even cut the asparagus and prosciutto in smaller bite size pieces to serve as appetizers. Finger food can be elegant too. I do always have to buy more prosciutto than asparagus though, if you’re buying in packs it’s usually only 3 ounces. You can always go to your artisan deli and ask them to slice you the same amount of asparagus in your bundle. This does require counting on your part to make sure you have enough. The end result is worth it though.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 6 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 packs {3 ounces each} Thinly Sliced Prosciutto
  • 1 bundle Asparagus
  • Olive Oil for drizzling
  • Pinch Kosher Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Trim your asparagus ends and start rolling each individual spear in a thinly slice of prosciutto. Start with one end and diagonally wrap the asparagus so it covers the whole surface evenly.
  3. Place prosciutto wrapped asparagus on a sheet pan and lightly drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until prosciutto is crisp, turning the asparagus halfway through baking time for even crispiness.
  4. Remove and serve immediately.

Prosciutto can be bought in 3 ounce packages typically around your deli section of the grocery store. They’re already pre-sliced and easy to separate because of the wax paper between each slice.

You can most certainly cook these on a griddle, large pan or even on the grill if you so choose. High heat is key and turn them to cook 2 minutes each side until crispy.

Trust me the smell in your kitchen will be ridiculous.
